Handling the wing on the sand
Before entering the water, you learn to hold, turn and neutralise the wing on land. This is the stage that builds confidence and avoids most of the mistakes of the first minutes on the water.
On the board, on your knees
In the calm, protected water of the bay, you enter the water with the wing and the board, learn to balance on your knees and to move with the wing's pull.
Standing up and gliding
Standing on the board, not flying yet: control of direction, speed and wing position. Falling and starting again is part of it — calm water makes everything simpler.
First flights on the foil
With speed and balance, the foil lifts the board above the water. It is the unique sensation of flying over the ocean that wins so many people over to wing foiling.

Wing foil or kitesurfing: which to choose?
Both sports live side by side at Cabana do Kite. Kiting takes around 12 hours of lessons to ride independently and uses the main beach and the lagoon; wing foil is more accessible, progresses fast and uses the calm water of the bay. Many students do both, and the school helps you choose according to your goal and the week's wind.
Safety in wing lessons
Lessons take place on an exclusive spot in the centre of the bay, with calm, protected water that is ideal for learning. The Icaraí Wing Academy instructors are experienced and guide every step. Being able to swim is mandatory, and any health condition that could affect your safety in the water must be reported before the lesson.
The wing foil equipment
Inflatable wings, foil boards and foils are part of the school's equipment, with Duotone and Ozone gear renewed regularly. The wing size is chosen for the day's wind and your weight; the board for your level. Everything is included in the lessons.
When to learn wing foil in Icaraizinho

What to bring and how to book
For a wing foil lesson you only need swimwear, water-resistant sunscreen and, if you like, a rash vest. Wing, board, foil, vest and helmet are part of the school's equipment. Bookings are made on WhatsApp (+55 88 98152-1670) or by email and confirmed in writing with dates, package and conditions.
After the first lesson
Riders who already fly independently can rent equipment at the school and use the storage in front of the spot. Many students alternate: kite lesson in the morning on the main beach, wing foil in the afternoon in the bay, and the Cabana restaurant in between. Pousada País Tropical, the school's partner, is a few minutes' walk away — the simplest way to string lesson days together.
